Going into the final virtual dual immersion, I was much more confident. I had done this twice before, and both times went smooth. I was less concerned about being able to keep up in Spanish, and I was more excited to simply have a conversation with someone from a different culture than my own. It also helped that there were three English speakers in my group. That made me less nervous about comprehending what my Spanish partner was saying because I felt that if I did not understand, it was likely that one of my partners did. In fact, I wish there would have been more students from Mexico in my group, too. That way our Spanish speaking partner would feel more confident as well. Overall, the experience went well again. We discussed our favorite artists and genres of music, what it was like where we lived, and food of course! I think it was a great final conversation to round out this experience.

     Mi pajera de México es un hombre con pelo castaño oscuro y una barba. Él tiene diecinueve años y se llama Rubén Cruz. Su deporte favorito es futbol. Le gusta los géneros musicales como reguetón, pop, y trap. Su artista favorito es Bad Bunny, un famoso cantante de puerto rico. Él piensa que su ciudad es aburrida y media, pero todavía lo disfruta. Si Rubén visita los estados unidos, quiere probar In N’ Out. Yo también lo dije porque nunca he estado allí tampoco. Entonces, él preguntó sobre algunas comidas diferentes en los estados unidos. Él ha oído hablar de los perros de maíz, pero no sabía que eran. Nosotros describimos su sabor y mostramos fotos. Rubén nos presentó al salchipapa. El salchipapa es salchichas encima de papas fritas. ¡Se ve muy delicioso! Rubén dice que si alguna vez visito México, tengo que intentarlo. ¡Yo también lo creo!
